Democrats are a joke who, aside from being republicans in disguise, can't even defeat someone as clueless as Bush. Given the choice between synthetic Republicans and real Republicans the public will choose real Republicans. The only solution is social revolution.

A critique of
this by Noam Chomsky
Chomsky provides no real evidence to support his first paragraph. He claims Kerry would be better on these things, but provides no evidence of it. He said the same thing about Clinton and was proven wrong. Clinton gutted welfare for the poor, increased welfare for the rich and gave the rich tax cuts. Kerry openly admits to being a tool of big business.
With regard to foreign policy, Bush's pre-election platform was less militaristic than Gore's. Bush said he wanted no "nation building" while Gore wanted to increase the military budget. The increase in militarism is due to 9-11, Gore would have reacted the same (or worse). Kerry has openly stated that he would be more of a "war president" than Bush.
It is not that we don't "give a damn" about people's suffering it is that Chomsky's claims are simply false. Most of the people hurt most by Bush/Clinton's attacks boycott the election, so his last paragraph breaks down. I happen to be one of the millions currently without health insurance, but I won't be voting for Kerry.
